Abraham prayed that the righteous people (from 50-10) would be saved. There were not even 10 righteous, the people were all wicked, so God decided to destroy the city by fire. Two angels were sent to rescue Lot's family. Lot and his family did not want to leave, but the angels brought them out. Lot's wife looked back at the city and turned into a pillar of salt.
