What is a grid?
An extremely dry area with little water and few plants.
What is a desert?
Area of rugged land that generally rises higher than 2,000 feet.
What is a mountain?
Rounded, elevated area of land smaller than a mountain.
What is a hill?
Imaginary line around the Earth parallel to the equator. Also known as a parallel.
What is latitude?
Imaginary line that passes through the poles. Also known as a meridian.
What is longitude?
A deep, narrow valley with steep walls.
What is a canyon?
A large area of slow-moving ice.
What is a glacier?
An opening in the Earth's crust where lava, gases, and ash erupt.
What is a volcano?
Sections of the Earth divided by the Prime Meridian and the equator.
What are hemispheres?
Middle line of longitude, measuring 0 degrees and dividing globe into eastern and western hemispheres.
What is the Prime Meridian?
An area of land covered by shallow water.
What is a wetland?
A large part of the ocean that extends into land.
What is a gulf?
Part of a large body of water that is smaller than a gulf.
