What is an archipelago?
Any of the four major divisions of the great body of salt water that covers almost three-fourths of the Earth
What is an ocean?
A small area of sea or lake partly enclosed by land. Smaller than a gulf.
What is a bay?
A piece of land almost surrounded by water, or extending far out into the water.
What is a peninsula?
A ball-shaped object
What is a sphere?
One of the great masses of land on Earth
What is a continent?
A large natural stream of water that flows into a lake or ocean
What is a river?
A deep bay used to shelter ships
What is a harbor?
The beginning of a brook or river
What is the source?
Half of a sphere
What is a hemisphere?
A waterway dug across land for ships or small boats to go through
What is a canal?
Any large body of salt water smaller than an ocean
What is a sea?
A large body of an ocean or sea with land around it
What is a gulf?
A narrow waterway that connects two larger bodies of water
What is a a strait?
An imaginary circle around the Earth halfway between the North and South Poles. It divides the Earth into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres
What is the equator?
A body of land surrounded by water
What is an island?
A fan-shaped deposit of dirt and sand that collects at the mouth of some rivers
What is a delta?
A narrow bridge of land, with water on both sides of it, connecting two large pieces of land
What is an isthmus?
A stream or river that flows into a larger river
What is a tributary?
A large body of matter, like the Earth, that moves around the sun in space
What is a planet?
A very high hill
What is a mountain?
The land along the sea; the seashore
What is a coast?
The part of a river where its waters flow into some other body of water, usually a lake or ocean
What is a mouth?
A model of the Earth
What is a globe?
A large body of water underground
What is an aquifer?
