All world maps are wrong because the earth is a sphere and maps are flat. When you try to make a sphere flat, it distorts the points of the sphere so the points looks different on a map. The points become stretched or shrink, so maps are not accurate representations of what the earth actually looks like.

The Mercator Projection. It is popular because the shapes of the continents and countries is generally accurate. It makes it easier for people to navigate because it preserves shapes and angles. The biggest problem with the Mercator Projection is that the sizes of the countries and continents are inaccurate.
