Should you keep good photos of campers after camp or post them on social media? 

No! After giving GeoVentures your photos, please erase photos of campers and never post them online on your personal social media.

Who fills out the accident form if there is an injury and when? 

The most involved staff, and any other adults present (under witness). Fill it out as soon as you are free to do so so that memory is fresh.

What do you do if you have a camper who tries to elope. 

Have one instructor shadow them. 

Contact the parents, tell them what you are doing. If after talking with parents after camp, this continues to be a problem, we may have to talk about refunding camp. Contact Wendy who may be able to get additional instrucotor support if available.

What should you do if an extra camper shows up who is not on your list for camp? 

Contact the site director and check if they are recent registrations. If they have not registered, send them to the township office. You cannot register them yourself, and do not let anyone give you money.

Who cancels camp in severe weather? 

The township or school. But contact the Site director if you are feeling unsafe, because they do not see everything you see.

What do we do with leftover items after camp ends at the end of the week? 

Try hard to get kids to take items. 

Call families if item has name inside. 

Drop high value items off to the township (such as a phone). 

Everyday items are left in the home base. Snap a picture and send to Wendy to send to families.

How can you check an natural area for bees/wasp nests before campers use it for a game or shelter building? 

Walk the area yourself. Lightly tap logs and stumps with a long stick and watch if they send out scouts to investigate. Toss rocks lightly to do the same. Look up for nests, and down for holes the size of a quarter. This is especially important in August and September.

When geocaching or doing an activity in groups over terrain, what is the rule for campers? 

They must stay with their group at all times.
