Christine Neil. The role of the Knowledge and Learning is to support the needs of FCB, FG&M, and FRD by facilitating the creation of systems, tools, and best practices for delivering quality training and resources that enable and empower NSONAS to deliver on our shared vison, mission, and values.
What is the difference between a Model A affiliate and a Model B affiliate?
Model A: Incorporated (independent legal entity), have BOD, have their own bylaws, have much more responsibility than Model Bs.
Model B: Unincorporated (operates under another NSO or NA), follows bylaws and governing docs of the incorporated NSO or NA above them, can transition to Model A once they have capacity.
What are the 4 advisory councils and what do they do?
1. Executive Director: EDs from NSONAs, a time for NAMI national to provide updates to EDs and vice versa
2. State Presidents: Comprised only of NSO presidents, Renata is the staff liaison
3. Peer Leadership: Made up entirely of peers/members of NSONAs
4. Service Members, Veterans, their Families: work on legislation and engage in advocacy efforts
