Last weekend, we went into a Huguenot church the other day in Charleston, and I was overcome with the significance of it.
What makes it difficult for you to trust God?
An overdeveloped sense of responsibility.
What room in your house best reflects your personality and why?
Office — It's chaotic and full of art supplies (creative).
What was your favorite subject in school? Why?
Math — I liked finding patterns.
If you could go anywhere for a one-day visit, where would you go and why?
Korea — to see my friend who is having her first baby soon (and to eat some yummy Korean food)!
Whom have you lost touch with but still wonder about?
Friends from college.
What kind of things do you pray about most frequently?
For God to soften the hearts of our friends and bring His hope to those around us.
When you're at home alone, do you wear shoes, socks, slippers, or go barefoot?
Slippers
Growing up, for which holidays did your family decorate the house?
Christmas.
If you had the opportunity to travel into space, would you go? Why or why not?
Nope! The lack of oxygen freaks me out.
What's weighing heavy on your heart these days?
My mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's earlier this year and we're about to head back overseas, meaning we'll have to walk that journey with her from far away.
What's your favorite Bible verse and why?
Psalm 16:11 — "You will make known to me the way of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever."
I love the promise that JOY is guaranteed in His presence.
What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word "fun"?
Doing anything artsy.
What's the best advice you've ever been given?
Look both ways before crossing the road (Thanks Ross).
If you could do something very daring without fear, what would you do?
Swim with sharks (Ross wants to, and then I could do it with him).
What recent disappointment have you had?
I didn't find a megalodon tooth on my recent shark-tooth hunting excursion.
How comfortable are you discussing spiritual things with others?
Pretty comfortable, but it's still intimidating much of the time.
What sound lulls you to sleep?
The "white noise" on airplanes.
How would you describe the highs and lows of this past week?
Low — Reading a friend's comments on why she doesn't trust any religion.
High — Finding shark teeth in Savannah, GA!
If you could learn to speak a foreign language, which one would you choose and why?
Russian — I think it sounds really cool!
When do you feel insecure?
In very French social situations, like birthday parties or housewarming parties, when there are a lot of new people.
What's one thing about God you don't understand?
The idea that He has no beginning.
