School is practice and preparation for adulthood. We all need to practice being kind humans on a daily basis.

What is confidentiality?

Keeping conversations between people private.  Not telling others what was said unless absolutely necessary.

Are you ever in trouble when you go to see your school counselor?

No. I don't give out any consequences! Sometimes I have to have difficult conversations, and we may need to work through challenging problems, but I will never assign consequences.

We all have big emotions & hard situations that we will need to use our coping skills to help get through

Talk with students individually, classroom guidance lessons, small groups, talk with teachers, talk with parents

In the back hallway behind the office! It's easiest to go to the office window and they will walk you back to our offices!

A way to cope with stress/negative emotions by telling someone about what happened or is happening.

Middle School is so hard! You are changing every day. Your body, friendships, likes and dislikes, and preferences  - ALL CHANGING! Your counselors are here to help you navigate up the challenging mountain of Middle School!

Write a note to your teacher. Send me an email. Submit the Counselor Request Form

Can you come to your counselor if your family has needs for food or other resources?

Yes! Absolutely. I also have clothes, hygiene items, and can get food for anyone who needs it.

Will my counselor tell my teacher if I have any complaints about a class or conflict with a teacher?

Your counselor will not tell your teacher without your permission. Your counselor can work with you to help deal with the conflict or challenging class when you are ready!

Do you have to be going through a major crisis to see your counselor?

No! Counselors support ALL students whether they need a lot or a little help. No problem is too big or too small!
