1. There is a multitude of groups that staff are assigned to or can volunteer with such as student clubs and school site council to improve our school community. 2. Teachers are involved in many aspects of the school and are effective leaders 3. There are many PD opportunities shared with teachers to improve their practice and if a teacher is interested in an outside PD, the administration is happy to approve that opportunity. 4. The school receives a lot of extra resources to support the staff and students such as classroom supplies and tutor.com
Growth
1. The school needs a better place and format to disseminate information amongst staff such as basecamp.com or a weekly newsletter 2. There is a lack of connection and collaboration between departments and administration 3. Some programs would be more effective if they were mandatory like a tutoring schedule 4. PLCs need more support, guidance, and structure to make them more effective and functional

1. The CTE department offers a wide variety of programs across many professional disciplines that are open to all students including students in EL and with disabilities. 2. There are 18 different AP courses available and increased enrollment in AP courses. 3. More communication w/ parents, including access to grades and assignments online (Portal, Google Classroom, Blackboard) and information about academic opportunities (through the school website and the PTSA Nitro Newsletter 4. The ELD PLC meets regularly and focuses on helping our EL students, especially in their mainstream classes.
1. PLCs: GHS has made strides implementing PLCs. We are still, however, at the beginning stages and still have room for growing the program. 2. Following up with students after graduation. Teachers effectively communicate course expectations to students through the use of syllabi, rubrics, and instruction based on standards. Other methods of communication with parents/guardians and students are through Q, Blackboard, and email. 2. A standards-aligned curriculum is provided for all core-subject courses 3. There has been a shift in grading practices to encourage student’s growth mindset and learning over time 4. Centralized (online and in-person) tutoring programs are available for all students.

1. Systematic use of common formative assessments in all departments and data analysis to inform instruction across all subject areas 2. Consistently accommodate all student’s learning needs, whether the student is in an advanced course, or have an IEP or a 504 Plan 3. Glendale High School offers personalized, multi-tiered support and ensures all students receive the support to meet their academic needs. MTSS is still new at GHS so there is room for improvement 2. Parent engagement. Although we have created many new ways to reach out to parents engagement is still not where we want it to be.
