Specific- vague goals do not have a clear focus and are harder to find satisfaction
Forrest Gump's mom says, "Life is like a box of" what?
Measurable- you should be able to track your progress
"I want to change my English grade from a C- to an A+ by next week"
(open for discussion)
not realistic, bad time frame, etc.
Action-oriented- this creates concrete steps to achieve your goals
Fix this goal:
“I want to lose 10lbs”
Open for discussion.
Ex:
“I want to eat healthier meals and go to the gym at least 2 times a week for one hour.”
Realistic- it must be something that is possible for you to personally achieve
"I want to be rich"
Ex: "I want to study hard in school so I can get a great job and make a lot of money"
Time-bound- give yourself a time frame to achieve your goal so you do not procrastinate
42 (a pair of dice)
"I want to be a better person"
Ex:
"I want to volunteer at a local organization at least once a week, and I want to be nicer to my peers and my family."
