Actively listening and participating- Listening without interrupting, asking on topic questions or making on topic comments after raising my hand

A listening skill used to clarify when you are unsure about what the speaker means or when you don't understand what was said or asked.
What is asking clarifying questions?
When someone is speaking we should do this.
What is listen quietly and don't interrupt?
I should think about feedback (even negative feedback) as this.
What is an opportunity to grow or a learning experience?
The feeling someone might feel when someone talks behind their back to their friends or coworkers.
What is upset, sad, embarrassed, hurt, or angry?
Name 3 places you would like to visit in the community in the upcoming year. (At least 2 that are free to go to)
This is one way that you can improve your listening skills.
What is practice?
Also accepted: Avoiding distractions, eye contact, facing/focusing on the speaker, waiting for speaker to pause and asking clarifying questions, asking follow up questions, nodding your head, be attentive, not interrupting, summarizing, repeating key points, keeping an open mind, being nonjudgmental, visualize what the speaker is saying, trying to empathize and feel what the speaker is feeling, giving feedback when the speaker is done talking, sharing your thoughts on what was said and showing interest.

This is a good way to show that I am accepting of feedback from my manager, job coach, or coworkers.

The emotion a person might feel when someone is bragging about how much money they have, how many friends they have, the many places they travel to, or all of the things they got on Christmas or their birthday.
