The player must declare she is playing a "provisional ball." If a ball is played without being declared as "provisional," then that ball becomes the ball in play.

No penalty. The ball is still considered to be in play and must be played as it lies.

If my ball is blocking another player's ball from the hole, what should I do?
I should tap the ball into the hole. If not, I must put a coin behind the ball so that the player can play his/her shot.
You hit your ball into a water hazard, what are your options?
I have three options: 1) Play the ball, 2) Replay from my last spot and take a 2 stroke penalty, and 3) Go backwards from where my ball crossed the hazard line and drop anywhere on that line.

Inform the player that they have hit the wrong golf ball. That player will incur a 2-stroke penalty and then play from the correct ball. I will replace my ball as close as possible to the orignal spot and play from there.

Player A incurs a one stroke penalty, and must replace the ball to the original spot, and replay the shot.
