This annual training ensures that Missions Services Team Members are informed on behavior plan policies, restrictive procedures, and are able to direct participants on how to file a grievance.

The overall goal of this program is increased community integration and improved socialization, but things like physical health, budgeting, and daily living skills are also worked on through various activities.

Day Hab

During the spooky season, each of the Goodwill Stores turns into one of these to become a one stop shop for the highlighted holiday.

Halloween Headquarters

These are held monthly here in the QCC and usually include a roundtable discussion and a super fun activity!  

Team Development Meetings

This training is required by all Missions team members (and their supervisors) and focuses on person-centered de-escalation techniques. Team members must renew this training every two years.  

CPI or Crisis Prevention Institute

This service is free to anyone, brings in zero revenue, and can be utilized as a "walk in" service.

Career Centers

The new Mount Pleasant store brings our total retail locations to 19. There are this many stores here in the East Region.

This group of volunteers is responsible for the governance of the organization, for the stewardship of assets and for the realization of the mission.  

Board of Directors

This agency wide training is completed when someone is first hired as an "intro" to Goodwill and takes a look at our history, mission, and values as a way to help team members connect with our five benchmark values. Depending on when you were hired, this was completed in person in Iowa City or online/virtually.

The team members in this program assist participants with learning their assigned tasks, expectations, and essential soft skills.

This specific segment of our required trainings focuses on improving team members' awareness, compassion, and ability to interact with others who are different than ourselves with dignity, respect, patience, and understanding.

This newly named program provides digital skills assessments, skills training, referrals to wraparound supports, and much more to help its participants reach their goals.

Workforce Services

This new way of providing services looks at the needs of the whole person and was adapted by the vocational services team in 2022. It completely revamped our employment programming, including expanding eligibility to all community members and renaming of services provided.
