God is the source of all that is good. Human beings, by their nature and vocation, are directed toward the good. Coming from God, and going toward God, human beings live fully human lives only if they freely live in communion with God.
What is Human Goodness
This literally means to miss the mark. This was a common archer’s term
What is Sin
This is the power, rooted in reason and will, to act or not to act, to do this or that, and so to perform deliberate (intentional) actions on one's own responsibility. By the use of this, one shapes one's own life. (CCC - 1731)
What is Freedom
This is what we call our ability to choose good or bad. This is our ability to choose our own path.
What is Free Will
A person whose connection to God is present and unbroken. A person who is without Mortal Sin.
What is State of Grace
This sin is usually committed without full reflection or consent. This is not God, but it does not deprive the soul of its connection to God
What is Venial Sin
A special calling to participate with God in a deeper way. A living out of intentional faith in all of our actions, a finding Christ in the other, understanding that they are under construction as well.
What is Vocation
This is unmistakably stated, rather than implied. It may be given in writing, by speech (orally), or non-verbally, e.g. by a clear gesture such as a nod.
What is Consent
A sin so serious that it cuts one off from God's grace
What is Mortal Sin
A state of goodness in which a person cooperates with God’s goodness. This is a response to God’s action in their life. In its fullness, this is a relationship With God
What is Holiness
A participation in the life of God.
