Without grace, we turn away from the good that God intends for us. With grace, we can overcome the effects of Original Sin. The supernatural virtues enable us to reach our supernatural end, or union with God in Heaven.
God freely created everything out of His perfect love and goodness. The proper response to God’s work of creation and salvation is to worship Him. Why do we need faith, hope, and charity to worship God as we should?
The more we believe in God (faith), trust Him (hope), and love Him (charity), the more we are able to respond with loving goodness. Because our human nature is wounded and limited, we need God to give us the theological virtues to enable us to believe, trust, and love Him.
