People with high self-esteem fell good about themselves, have good self image. They feel loved, appreciated by their friends and family and have a thirst for life. People with low self-esteem feel bad about themselves and wish they could change themselves. They feel left out and disconnected from others and they worry and do not have a thirst for life.

Empathy is being able to put yourself in other people's shoes and understanding other people's needs, wants and views. It is different because sympathy is feeling sorry for someone, but empathy is being able to put themselves in the other persons position and feel their feelings.
