It all started with a fight between ##### and ####. #### lost, and ##### tied him up with his strings. But when he attempted to eliminate him, #####'s Determination combined with the fact that he is a past ##### saved him. He turned into ######, and he became much more powerful.
He now travels across universes trying to collect codes to recreate his ######. But, his attempts continue to fail to only create broken versions. Gaster!Flowey began contacting ##### in his pocket dimension in the form of a strange flower and convinced him to begin copying the code of Papyruses, which caused him to come in conflict with several other Sanses from multiple AU's. Eventually, he managed to sew together something that worked: Patch. Although Patch looked like a Papyrus and had his core mind, he was not the same as ##### Papyrus. Patch would use Recipes and Memory games to try and bring back ##### positivity but to no avail. Eventually, Patch suggested that if Fatal wanted something like his Papyrus, he should use code from ATs instead of AUs so the code would fit together. ##### was very pleased with this idea and set out to take the code of the ATs. The comic is still in progress so it is unknown whether he will succeed.

The monsters grew insane, hungry, and turned on each other.

After the SHIFT took place, the underground becomes corrupted and everyone is erased except #####!Sans and #####!Frisk. #####!Sans tries to take #####!Frisk to the CORE. By doing that, #####!Frisk will have to infuse their DT in the CORE, resetting the timeline and bringing everybody back. Yet something about the CORE makes the task at hand difficult. But unfortunately, this universe cannot be reset no matter what.

He was classic Sans from the original UnderTale timeline and the skeleton we all know. Not really remembering the resets but feeling the deja-vu of the timelines, he fought against Chara in the Judgment Hall at the end of her/his genocide. When Chara killed him his HP dropped to zero, his soul shattered. But in the same moment, he fell out of the game and became real. #### was in his body and healed him. Later when he reentered the game, he could remember the resets could remember the real world. After hearing that every emotion, every thought was already programmed by someone else for him- that he only was a game character to entertain people, left him struggling between his emotions. He is switching between depression, absolute despair, fury, madness and happiness.
After being outside while a reset, he got erased from the game and the story. He never existed in UnderTale anymore. At this point, his timeline wasn't the original one anymore, but got copied and became ##########, the new timeline.
He got his new clothes from Frisk after he "died" and his old clothes were covered in blood and ripped apart. Because of ####, he can't use bone-based attacks or blasters anymore.

After a Genocide Route, Sans becomes fearful that Frisk would never come back (and reset the world back to normal) after a Genocide Route. In a state of panic, Sans kills Frisk and takes their SOUL at the beginning of the timeline, and when Asgore refuses to fuse with the other six to free them, he does so himself, believing that this is the best for all monster-kind. He then breaks the barrier.
Meanwhile, Papyrus discovers Frisk's corpse. Not knowing how human death works, he takes it to Undyne, who goes along with it as to not upset him. They both go to ask Alphys about where the SOUL and Sans went, and they rush over to the castle. There Undyne tries to assault a hulking beast, who turns out to be Sans in his new form.
Toriel then arrives. Furious at Frisk's death and believing its Asgore's fault, she launches an enraged and heartbroken assault. She recognizes Papyrus' name from her conversations with Sans and gets stopped from her useless attacks by a certain fish duplexing her because she can.
After everyone is done calming down, Asgore eventually decides to not inform the rest of the Underground about the now-broken Barrier until further notice, with Alphys making plans to extract the SOULs from Sans. When Sans and Papyrus return to Snowdin, nobody recognizes Sans, whom Papyrus calls his 'cousin'. Later that night, Sans can't sleep because of the SOULs talking inside of him, and he goes outside only to fall asleep later.
Then, in the morning, as he wakes up he finds Monster Kid and some others asking to touch his tail. He accepts, then Papyrus comes out telling him they have to go.

Here he was, at the Judgement Hall, face to face with the human. Sans messes around a bit, yet he notices something doesn't seem quite right with the human, but that doesn't matter... he's here to end their genocide regardless. The human instantly vanishes. Sans panics, wondering where the human went. He looks up and sees a fury of slashes in the sky, all aiming towards him, and thus the fight began. The human overwhelms Sans with tremendous speed and power, and he isn't able to keep up. One strike was all it took, and Sans laid on the ground (or half of him, rather). He sees a hallucination of Papyrus, who picks him up and cheers him on to continue the fight. Papyrus tells him there's someone else he forgot to save. It was Frisk. Sans gets mad as they were the one who killed his brother, but Papyrus reminds him of the good times they had. He then sees Alphys, Undyne, Toriel, Grillby, and Mettaton, who encourage him in their respective ways. They disappear, as Sans lays on the ground, closes his eyes and accepts his fate. But just before he could die, Asgore, who was still alive, tosses the soul of ####### at the dying skeleton. The human notices it, but Flowey stops them. He encourages Sans to win this fight, before shortly being finished off. Asgore stops the human, before eventually receiving the same fate. Sans, in his dying breath, absorbs the soul of ######, and is risen to fight one more time. The fight between the two continues, while Sans demonstrates his new abilities to the human. The human takes the fight seriously and has transformed to their final form. Sans pins the human to the ground, and uses blue bones to make sure they can't move. Sans says that once the human is dead, Frisk will reset and he will do anything he can to save them from this genocidal path, but the human laughs it off, explaining that when a human soul mixes with a monster soul, both souls lose their unique traits, meaning Frisk can no longer reset even if they died. Frisk takes over and tells Sans they are lying, but he demands the truth. Frisk explains that they can truly no longer reset, and Sans lowers the blue bone, allowing them to move. The human then takes over, taking advantage of Sans letting his guard down. They go for the kill, but Sans won't go down that easily. He transforms into his final form, sending the human back. The two fight with great power, but Sans gains the upper hand, ending the fight. Frisk is now dead, but Sans promises that he will protect other universes from receiving the same fate. He opens a portal and disappears.
