Redirect him away from the mess to work time, do not bring attention to him dumping out the cars. Ask someone else if they can clean up the cars.

WiBl is engaging in SIB and gives himself a bloody nose. You call for help. While trying to clean him up, he continuously engages in aggression. What do you do?

 Follow the biohazard protocol, one person cleans him up and the other person can assist in blocking aggression and SIB using C-hands or blocking pads. Remain calm, praise him when he allows you to clean him when he is not engaging in either behavior. Remove C-hands and blocking pads when applicable.

Continue delivering instructions to relinquish the tablet, move your hand if she attempts to hit you instead of giving the tablet.

Call for help, attempt to redirect him to his work room, offer the weighted blanket, headphones, lights off, blocking pad between him and the wall, and stay outside the room as long as he is not harming himself. Continue to track outburst as applicable and resume reinforcement when calmed down.

Onset: Count each time *client* uses force (each contact with another person's body part)

Offset: the removal of his touch (his body part does not touch yours or removes it) 

Eating Non-Edible Items: Any instance of attempt of *client* ingesting a non-edible item (including solids and liquids) include only items he could successfully ingest, such as crayons, playdoh, urine, paper, small toys

Mouthing: *Client* puts non-edible objects into his mouth (e.g., toys, clothing, materials, fingers or toes). Please count an instance if the item passes the plane of his lips(what you can see when his mouth is closed). 

If he is touching something only to the outside of his lips when his mouth is closed, this will not count.

Remove yourself from the touch, prompt him to ask first. Allow the touch once he has appropriately asked.

MFG is playing on the swing and a peer gets close to him. MFG hits the peer. What do you do?

Block aggression attempts, stand between MFG and the peer, and transition away from the area the aggression happened in, use paced prompting if needed. MFG can go back to the swing after 1 minute without challenging behaviors.

Keep reaction as neutral as possible, place your hand on the back of their head to stablize, do not push, wait until they release. Write a staff incident report.

CaBl is swinging and hits his closed hands on his sides. You sit him in time out and he continues to hit himself, stand up, and aggress at you. He squeezes your arms and pushes you backwards. 

What do you do?

Plant your feet to stay where you are, keep pressure on his biceps or forearms, DON'T push him, verbally tell him to sit down in a stern voice. When he sits, continue the time out procedure until challenging behaviors cease for 30 seconds.

During a time out procedure with CaBl, he pushes you back and you fall and hit your head, causing it to bleed continuously. What do you do? What should someone who comes to help do?

Call for help, don't move. 

Whoever comes to help should get a lead if the lead is not already there. One person should continue CaBl's time out procedure in another location, one person will assist you in maintaining the bleeding, and a lead will call 911 if needed. A staff incident report should be filed.
