What providers, other than Clarivate and Corsearch, offer a full search?

Name 3 titles that a lawyer at an enterprise might have who is a good fit for Haloo and explain why.

What is:

- Trademarks Manager or Head of Trademarks because this shows the team is large enough to have their own trademark department or team and requires this expertise

- Chief Legal Officer or General Counsel, because in a small company who doesn't have dedicated trademark staff, they have to do everything including trademarks and a tool that helps them move faster or displace work from counsel will be helpful

-  IP Counsel, because this similarly shows that someone is tasked with all IP. Sometimes, this can be a patent lawyer but when they are in charge of all IP including trademarks at a large enterprise, a tool like Haloo that helps them build expertise is helpful.

What is Haloo's PASS PAUSE STOP risk ranking?

What is high level risk ranking to help you quickly understand the likelihood of trademark conflicts. This is NOT legal advice, but an informational risk ranking directly impacted by the search parameters you choose:

  • Pass: The AI did not find significant conflicts. This suggests the mark appears relatively clear and has a lower risk of examiner refusal—but note, it is not a guarantee of approval.
  • Pause: The AI found potential issues that warrant closer attention. There may not be a direct conflict, but you should review the results carefully before proceeding. This rating signals moderate risk and a need for professional judgment.
  • Stop: The AI identified obvious conflicts that would likely lead to a refusal. This means a high probability of problems, usually due to identical or very similar marks in the same class.

These ratings are based on a comprehensive analysis that mimics the judgment of real trademark examiners, helping you decide whether to proceed, pause, or stop your trademark application process.

NOTE: A STOP will generally mean exact match, primary class overlapping keywords from subclasses chosen. So if you set up your search differently, it will affect the risk ranking.

What is the difference between a Medium and Narrow Watch and what should be recommended on Watch set up?

What is a difference in the scope of trademark monitoring:

  • Narrow Scope: This watch is very focused. It monitors trademarks that are highly similar to the one being watched—ideal for catching direct overlaps or very close matches.

  • Medium Scope: This watch casts a slightly wider net, picking up trademarks that are still quite similar, but may have small differences. That makes it useful for spotting potential conflicts that aren't immediately obvious.

Both options are available for word marks and logo marks, and the scope you select directly impacts how sensitive your watch will be to potential trademark issues.

If setting up watches for clients, we recommended Medium to start.

Name 3 pain points a lawyer at a firm faces, and that could be solved by Haloo?

What is:
1. Time to search eats into profits: Takes too long to run their own searches with Boolean; and this eats into their flat fee service models and makes matters less profitable

2. Time: Takes too long to get reports back from Clarivate/Corsearch, so they can't serve clients as timely as they want.

3. Offering advice not on a full search: Many clients don't opt for a full search and they have to provide advice based on a prelim; which makes it hard to give a deep legal opinion. Haloo makes deeper searching possible for everyone.

4. Quality of search: New lawyers aren't as deeply trained on Boolean search. They can lean into AI to get them better and more consistent quality.

What is the Variant Field and how is it used? Include at least 3 suggestions for variant searches.

What is an optional power user feature in Comprehensive Search only that lets you enhance your trademark search by running a second, specialized search alongside your main search.

You can use the variant field to:

  • Find sound-alike marks: For example, if your mark sounds like a dictionary word but is spelled differently (like "BRDJ" for "bridge"), the "Sounds Like" variant helps catch phonetically similar trademarks.
  • Focus on distinctive parts: If there's a unique element in your mark, such as "Cre8" in "Cre8 Space," selecting "distinct" and entering "Cre8" will direct the search to dig deeper on that part.
  • Find translations
  • For acronyms

You can only choose one variant type per search, so pick what's most important for your mark. This helps make your search more comprehensive and spot potential conflicts that regular searches might miss

What are 3 things we can say about comprehensive search reports from Clarivate/Corsearch and why Haloo performs better?

- Location: C/C are sending trademark search reports to individuals oversees to complete

Name 3 pain points a lawyer at an enterprise faces, and that could be solved by Haloo?

What is:

1. Legal fees: Spends a lot on outside counsel, for work that they could potentially do in house with better tools.

2. Deadlines: The business always wants the work faster, or doesn't give legal enough time to review.

3. Expertise: Not all in house teams are trademark experts. Haloo allows them to provide more accurate advice and deeper insights even for legal teams who aren't made up of trademark experts, yet who have to advise on clearance and other matters.

What is the difference between a Nice Class search, a Goods and Services Search and a Basic Search, and what is most recommended in Haloo's best practices for running searches?
