Luke poured one tablespoon of sugar into a cup of warm water and left it. He poured one tablespoon of sugar into another cup of warm water water and stirred it. Both dissolved, but the sugar that was stirred dissolved more quickly.
What factor caused this to happen? Explain.
What is MOVEMENT. When the matter being dissolved is the same, and the temperature is the same, then an increase in movement (such as stirring or shaking), will speed up the rate of dissolving.
