Before leaving school early go to a game/meet, a student athlete must...

Sign out in the main office. 

Please note that you must sign yourself out…you cannot sign out a friend or have a friend sign you out.  Also, if possible, stay in class until the time that you have to leave.  You don’t have to miss the entire class every time!

The only head covering that is allowed is ...

Head coverings that are for religious practice or belief are the only head coverings that are allowed. 

Masks, visors, hats, caps, hoods, bonnets, etc. are not allowed.

What is the expectation for cell phones during the school day?

Students may possess electronic devices on school property, as long as devices are not activated (in other words, turned off) and not visible during the school day between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM.

Does the dress code apply to field trips?

Unless otherwise stated, the CIBA dress code applies to field trips as well.   

Students who are not dressed appropriately may not be allowed to go on the field trip.

What happens if a cell phone is visible, audible or in use between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM?

It will be confiscated and turned in to an administrator (violations are on page 25).  Please note that if a student refuses to give the device up, then he/she is subject to disciplinary action.

1st violation:  Confiscated and given to the main office.  Returned to student at the end of the school day.  Conversation with the student/review of the policy and rationale. 

2nd violation: Confiscated and given to the main office.  Phone call home to a parent/guardian.  Conversation with the student and parent/guardian including a review of the policy and rationale. Must be dropped off to the main office by the student before 7:30 AM and picked up at dismissal daily for one week.

3rd violation:  Confiscated and given to the main office.  Phone call home to a parent/guardian.  Conversation with the student and parent/guardian including a review of the policy and rationale.  Must be dropped off to the main office by the student before 7:30 AM and picked up at dismissal daily for two weeks.

4th violation:  Confiscated and given to the main office.  Meeting at the school with the parent/guardian and student.  Must be dropped off to the main office by the student before 7:30 AM and picked up at dismissal daily for one month.

5th violation:  Confiscated and given to the main office for parent/guardian pickup. Meeting at the school with the parent/guardian and student.

You must hand in your work that day and the homework that is assigned is due the same day as everyone else in the class.

Give three examples of appropriate tops.

Inchworm clothing:

Short or long sleeve collared (polo) shirts with school logo (available in black, red, or white)

Short or long sleeve white oxford shirts with school logo, worn with or without a vendor approved tie

Other available options include: cardigan sweater, sweater vest, fleece or blazer jacket

CIBA approved NHS/Abelon/SAB sweatshirts

EHHS approved sports/music apparel with EHHS logo including hoodies

Outerwear should not be worn during the school day and should be stored in lockers.  Uniform shirts may be borrowed from the main office-BE PROACTIVE.

When is the only instance that cell phones can be used in classrooms?

At times under teacher discretion and supervision, teachers will allow students to use cell phones if the purpose is directly related to instruction.

What happens if I lose my passport?

If a student loses his/her passport, he/she must come to the main office and ask Ms. Simoneau/Mrs. Galeota for a new one.  Without a passport, a student will not be allowed to leave the classroom.

Do not share your locker or combination with other students.


Do not tamper with the lock on your locker or deface your locker in any way.


Keep your locker locked when not in use.  Items in unlocked lockers or lockers propped open are subject to confiscation by the administration. 


Report locker issues such as broken locks immediately to the CIBA main office.


Do not keep valuables in your locker.  The school is not responsible for items missing or stolen from lockers or belongings left in the lockers at the end of the school year.  The school will not investigate the loss or theft of items left in unlocked lockers.

What are passes used for?

Passes are used for:

Traveling to a specific destination (from one class to another, for extra help, etc.) (white pass)

In the event you are late (white pass)

How often should you check your cibanet email?

It is recommended that you check your cibanet email at least once a day for important information.

Can you miss class for practice or meetings?

No.  All of the coaches know that CIBA students cannot miss their class for practice or meetings (even if the meeting is mandatory).

When can students may wear T-shirts that are CIBA or EHHS issued and approved?  Examples include:  Abelon walk T-shirts, class T-shirts, Black History Month T-shirts, etc.

What should I do if there is an emergency and I need to contact my parent/guardian?

You can come to the main office and ask permission to use your cell phone in the main office.

What is the proper procedure for going to see the nurse?

You must come to the main office with your passport, sign out to go to EHHS, and then obtain a pass for the nurse. 

If a student is sick, he/she may not call their parent/guardian to come pick them up unless they have seen the nurse.
