When clients leave the building for the park or a community support meeting (AA, NA, CR), what are 3 things you need to keep in mind?

Remain with staff at ALL times, stay in the meeting, and DO NOT leave unless approved by staff. No food or drinks can be brought back into the van or the center.

*If you can't see us, we can't see you, and that quickly turns into chaos.

Julie is the building inspector: she has an issue regarding community hygiene (e.g., hair in the shower, messes left behind, people not doing their chores). What should she do?

With staff present, calmly bring it up in morning community and use "I" statements to describe the issues occurring and how they affect the entire community. 

"I am frustrated and disgusted by the mess that is being left behind because..."

If this doesn't fix the issue, bring it back to staff to help you resolve the problem in the community.

You have a question you want to ask the staff as you walk up to the office door. The door is open, but the staff are speaking amongst themselves or working on the computer. What should you do in this situation?

Knock on the door and wait for staff to invite you in or write down your questions until the office isn't as busy.

Regarding the smoking policy, what are some things to keep in mind?

No lighters in your possession. Can possess no more than 1 pack of cigs at a time. Smoke breaks occur at designated times (may fluctuate). Smoking in the building is strictly prohibited. No gifting, lending/borrowing of any kind

While out at a meeting, you run into your previous drug dealer, and they invite you to go to their car. What is the best course of action? 

RUUUUNNNNN to the nearest staff member!!! We are here to help you work through your triggers and urges. Please talk to us; we want to be here for you amd support you the best way we can.

If you feel like you need to go to the hospital/ER for any reason, what should you do?

Go talk to your frontline staff!! We will never deny you access to the ER.

If you don't come talk to us - we don't have any idea what is happening with you.
