Explain what the Declaration of Independence is
It's a document that states Americans were fighting for their freedom and rights. They did not want to be ruled by Great Britain anymore.
French people did not want to pay more tax and King Louis refused to let them vote.
The common people created a new group to govern the country.

He defeated the Austrians in Italy.
Why did the South declare independence from the North (America)?
The South relied on slaves to work on their farms. They were afraid that the president would end slavery and they wouldn't have people to work for them.

Louis was suspicious of the noblemen in his country. He did not trust them, so he kept them close in his palace to watch them. The noblemen just flattered Louis and didn't do much in the palace.
After winning the war against the British, the Americans made a new flag.

His downfall came about when he tried to conquer Russia. The cold weather and Russians killed most of his soldiers.
