What do you do if your client says they want assistance with getting section 8 housing because they need to move out of their current home by next month?

At this time, Section 8 is currently closed to new applications and their waiting list is also closed. Unfortunately, because of the lack of housing resources in Baltimore, I will not be able to follow-up with you about housing. However, what I can do today is provide you with a list of websites where you might be able to find housing that best fits your needs.

What do you say if someone asks you to assist them with a child support application?

Unfortunately, child support applications are out of scope for the work that HCC does, primarily because we aren't lawyers and aren't able to guide you about the legal processes. What we can do is recommend that you take advantage of the Social Worker in the Library Program. They will be able to assist you with completing the application.

After this is complete, HCC can assist you with submitting a child care subsidy application or Temporary Cash Assistance application if you are interested.
