Slytherin was in first place at first but Dumbledore awarded Ron 50 points for his chess game, Hermione 50 points for her logic, Harry 60 points for his courage, and Neville 10 points for his bravery in standing up to his friends. These extra points caused Gryffindor to come in first place for the house cup.

When Harry realizes he is famous he hopes only to live up to the expectations. Whe Harry wins the Quidditch match in record time he rushes off ignoring the roar of the crowd. He wants the Sorcerer's Stone not for personal gain or power, but for the common good.
Why could Harry get the stone out of the mirror but Professor Quirrell could not?
Dumbledore made it so that only someone who wanted to find the Stone but not use it would be able to get it. Otherwise, they'd just see themselves making gold or drinking Elixir of Life.
Why couldn't Quirrell touch Harry?
Harry's mother died to save Harry. The one thing Voldemort does not understand is love & he did not realize that love as powerful as Harry's mother leaves a mark. Quirrell, so full of hatred and greed, could not touch Harry because it was agony to touch a person marked by something so good.

Snape and Harry's father hated each other. Similar to Harry and Malfoy. Snape hated Harry's father even more because Harry's father also saved Snape's life.
