What is tooth brushing?
These should be labeled and made sure they are not poisonous.
What are plants?
None of this is allowed in the classroom at anytime by any staff or child.
What is outside food or beverages?
You need to make sure all furniture is waist height, activities grouped together, the room needs to be clutter free and big spaces are set up for clear play.
What is setting up the environment?
Staff should try to call after an hour of classroom start time but need to follow up at the end of the day if no contact has been made when this occurs.
What is an unexpected child absence?
Check child and make sure they are ok, then immediately call parent and notify Allison and supervisor.
What is to be done after an accident or injury?
These should always be covered when not in use and monitored closely.
What are outlets?
These should be used at all times when handling food.
What are gloves?
When doing this you are able to always see the children.
What is positioning yourself?
This should be checked daily and followed up with immediately if needed before children arrived.
What are emails and voicemails?
When leaving the classroom a child should never be in possession of this.
What is the Red Go Bag?
All indoor and outdoor equipment, materials, toys and furniture must be in this state at all times.
What is safe, good repair and clean?
This should be completed at meal time not before or after.
What is point of service meal count?
Silence, door alarms, and abnormal sounds could be a sign of this.
What is a potential danger?
If a person is there to pick up a child this must be on the pick up/drop off form.
What is their full name?
Ask for paperwork, contact Allison, don't administer until plan is submitted, reviewed and trained.
What you are to do if medication is provided without paperwork?
Anything that says this should be placed high enough out of children's reach.
What is Keep out of reach of children?
You should always be sitting and role modeling at this time.
What is meal time?
These should be done upon child's arrival and could help identify possible injuries, sickness or behaviors for the day.
What are daily health checks?
This should be done by all teachers before they sit down for a meal.
What is wash their hands?
After one case in the classroom of this is reported parents will be notified.
What is lice?
If a concern arises about child's safety at home we are mandated to contact this agency and make a report. We don't make the decision, just the report.
What is Childline?
During an emergency or unexpected circumstance this should be on hand for use and not expired.
What is emergency food?
This should be done starting at the beginning of the day, every time children leave the classroom and return to the classroom. (Ex. bathroom breaks, going outside, visit another classroom, etc.)
What is scan and COUNT OUT LOUD?
This should be done after two days of absence and followed up daily until the child is dropped or returns.
