The more nutrient dense a food is the more variety of nutrients we are getting from one single source of food. When a food is nutrient dense we do not need to eat a bunch of different foods to get all of the nutrients our bodies should have.

Metabolism is the process by which the body breaks down substances and gets energy from food. If you have a good/high functioning metabolism, you are able to efficiently extract nutrients from food and use it in your body.
