Where it is appropriate to eat at.
What is the back patio?
The person you must text or call before 9:00 am if you are going to be late or absent. Failure to do so will result in an unexcused absence.
Who is Amanda?
Where everyone's phone goes during class, if one person looks at theirs when not authorized to do so.
What is in a box by the instructor?
Affected by alcohol or drugs especially to the point where physical and mental control is markedly diminished.
What is inebriated or intoxicated?
The fridge that is off limits to everyone at Heartland YouthBuild, even staff.
What is the small silver fridge, or non-YB fridge, in the kitchen?
Doing this will cause you to be asked to leave.
What is tagging/grafting?
Where you can go to make up classes missed, excused or not, to be able to turn in the APT.
What is the Learning Center?
Excessive phone use has been compared to this.
What is drug addiction?
Breaking this rule will cause you to be asked to leave, without the option of returning.
What is selling, trading, or gifting any substances or paraphernalia; such as drugs or alcohol?
Is not a hang-out spot.
What is the computer lab?
Something you shouldn't be doing in front of the building.
What is loitering/hanging-out?
What you have to maintain to turn in the APT.
What is 80% attendance?
You will be given time during class to do this.
What is check my phone?
Doing this will cause you to be asked to meet with Ms. Christine or Ms. Taylor and enroll in a program if needed.
What is coming to school high?
To be thrown away in a garbage can outside.
What is any trash with food still in it?
Where you cannot sit.
What are the tables in the common/shared area?
The sign-in sheet next to Amanda's desk.
What must be signed when arriving and before leaving?
A total distraction to you, and super disrespectful to your instructors.
What is unauthorized use of my phone during class?
Doing this will cause you to be asked to leave for the remainder of the day.
What is bringing substances (drugs, alcohol or paraphernalia) to school?
Must always be knocked on before entering.
What is the door of Ms. Genny, Ms. Christine's and Ms. Taylors shared office?
Don't be caught chewing this inside the building.
What is gum?
After 10 of these, you will be asked to leave the program with the opportunity to reapply the next unit.
What is unexcused absences?
Is designed to keep you on it for as long as possible, so needs self-control and time limits in place.
What is social media (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and/or YouTube)?
We do this because we care.
What is noticing and saying something?
Are kept up by Amanda's desk and are not to be ridden inside the building nor on the sidewalks in front of the building.
What are bikes, skateboards and scooters?
