no, until RIDA/HRMS shows that the employee is employed, we cannot grant access to ACE. Attempting to override the system will cause unexpected issues before and after the start date.

We have a software developer in OIT located in HWB. They are hard wired into the network, but cannot ping or reach a reserved printer. We can ping and get to the printer from our offices. What is the issue?
SEA, DBAs, and software developers are on a separate subnet. An exception needs to be created by OC in order for the employee to access and print to the printer.

The internet in my building is down! Send someone to fix it! (assume they are not wrong) What should we do?
Ask the customer for their IP and MAC address and at least two other sets of addresses with the same issue. Call OC (50749) to notify them of the outage and give them the IP and MAC address. Put that information in a ticket and assign it to OC.

I am a full time faculty memeber. I need to install Windows 8 on my Macbook. I will be using bootcamp for this install. The computer is UNLV bar coded and my department is willing to pay for the media, I will be traveling so I prefer if you give me the media on a disc so I can install it on my own. What should the IT Help Desk do?
Operating systems can only be installed by OIT technicians. We are NOT allowed to give anyone else windows OS media. We can create a ticket and assign it to desktop and field services so that they can install windows on the Macbook.
