What are lymphomas?
Small bean shaped organs located along the channels of the lymphatic system
What are lymph nodes
Bone pain, especially in the ribs and back, fractures, frequent infections, anemia, and fatigue
What are symptoms of Multiple Myeloma?
Type of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma that grows slowly and has few symptoms
What is indolent lymphoma?
The most common type of cancer in children.
What is ALL?
The only sure way to tell if there is a malignancy
What is biopsy?
All blood cells originate from these cells produced in the bone marrow
What is a stem cell?
Type of WBC (white blood cell) that produces antibodies. Multiple Myeloma is a cancer associated with too many of these cells
What are plasma cells
Large abnormal cells that are usually associated with Hodgkin’s Disease
What are Reed-Sternberg cells
Where all white blood cells begin their development
What is the bone marrow?
In diagnosing multiple myeloma, samples of the patient’s blood and urine are checked to see whether they contain high levels of these antibody proteins
What are M proteins?
Lymphoma that is found in tissues outside the lymph system, such as in liver or lung tissue is described (staged) in this way.
What is E? (Extranodal or Extralymphatic)
This is needed in order to plan a patient’s treatment

What are blasts?
MGUS and Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia are examples of these.
What are other plasma cell neoplasms?
DLBCL is the most common type of this lymphoma.
What is non-Hodgkin lymphoma?
lymph node group in the armpit region that drains lymph from the breast and nearby areas.
What are the axillary lymph nodes?
A stem cell that may produce red blood cells, platelets, or granulocytes.
What is a myeloid stem cell?
This is released into the blood when bones are damaged
What is calcium?
More than 75% of all newly diagnosed patients this type of lymphoma can be cured with combination chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
