This member of the Executive Board is elected at the end of spring semester to serve for the upcoming academic year, and manages admissions to the house.
Who is the Vice President?
This committee is optional to join, and works to keep the community a safe space for everyone.
What is the Diversity and Inclusivity Committee?
These happen on the first Sunday of each month during the Fall, and are mandatory for all house members to attend.
What are House Meetings?
This chore happens on a weekly rotation with the people living directly next to one another.
What is the bathroom deep clean/ bathroom chore?
This association co-owns and assists the house through funds, donations, gifts, and guidance.
What is the Harriet Elizabeth Richards Alumni Association?
This Executive Board member manages communications with BU Admin, billing, budget concerns, and general house guidance- NOT to be confused with the house director (GRA).
Who is the President?
This committee is intended to promote the house to prospective members as well as its events to the community.
This mandatory event happens at least once per semester at the very beginning, and whips the house into shape for the new semester.
What is the All House Clean?
This type of chore is intended to maintain the overall cleanliness of the house.
What is a maintenance chore?
This was the original value of the first (but not the last) donation that Harriet E Richards gave to establish the house's initial presence, which is today worth $1700.
What is $100?
In addition to making grocery orders and keeping the house's food supply stocked, the Steward is in charge of assigning and facilitating 3 of these to each house member per semester.
What are cooknights?
This Committee is dedicated to the improvement of the house, as well as the frequent revision of house rules.
This event happens once at the beginning of each semester to promote house bonding and is managed by the Vice President.
What is the House Retreat?
This type of chore is intended to fulfill some aspect of the house's day-to-day functioning, including (but not limited to) AKP/NKP, casset, and pots & pans.
What is an operational chore?
This anniversary of the house's existence will be celebrated this year at the annual Alumni Tea come spring semester.
What is the 95th anniversary?
This Secretary oversees reimbursements, committee activities, and house records, as well as the maintenance of this room of the house.
What is the Mail Room?
The Eat for Equity and Open Mic Concert (this year held on October 14th) is mandatory for all members to participate, but the planning and oversight for the event is done by this committee.
What is the Activities committee?
This mandatory event happens once a year in conjuction with the last house meeting.
What is the Winter Party?
These points accrue when a house member contributes to the house.
This was the original location of the HER House, before it relocated to 191 Bay State Rd in 1940.
What is 328 Bay State Rd/The Hollander Mansion?
The Clerk is in charge of chores and all-things house upkeep, but is also tasked with giving out this award each month to a house member of their choice.
What is the most cooperative award?
In the Spring this committee runs the alumni tea, but in the Fall it oversees the Fall Faculty Welcome.

The annual awards of most cooperative, best cook, and the Emma Sleeper Senior award are given at this annual house event.
What is the Alumni Tea?
These points accrue when some or all required aspects of a chore is not complete, and can build up to a "Job Jar" assignment.
