Since the Hesperides were Atlas's daughters, he took the Titan's place in holding up the sky while Atlas went & took an apple from the tree. Then, Hercules tricked the Titan into holding the sky again, before he escaped with the apple.

Diomedes trained the horses into man eaters, & took Hercules to be fed to them with 50 soldiers backing him up. So, Hercules gave the horses a main course of Thracian soldiers with screaming evil king for dessert. When's they were full & tame, he brought 4 of them back to his cousin.

They didn't count because Hercules's nephew, Iolaus, helped him slay the hydra & he got payment for cleaning the Augean stables. No one was supposed to be able to help him, & he couldn't receive payment for completing labors.
