What forms of footwear may not be worn to school on uniform days?
Note: Boots may be brought to school to be worn outside for recess on wet days. Boots and sandals may be worn on non-uniform days.
The last Thursday of each month, Middle School Principal List Day, and on their birthday.
When can students and staff wear free dress? (jeans, etc)
Note: If a birthday falls on a Mass day, full uniform is required, but they may choose a different day OR change immediately following Mass.

What two all class parties that will be planned by your Room Ambassadors?
Supervisors should be in separate sections of the playground to provide proper supervision
Where should recess supervisors be?
Teachers must have these pre-approved by the principal before sending to the entire class
What is an all-class communication such as an email or a parent letter?
Solid color red, white, black or navy
What are acceptable colors of socks and tights?
Note: Hair accessories may be white, red, blue, black or brown.
Jewelry is discouraged
Religious jewelry is allowed
Earrings that do not extend below the earlobe
What type of jewelry that is allowed at HFK?
Small individual treat such as cookies, candy and doughnuts
(No cakes, goody bags, frozen or refrigerated times, beverages or class lunches)
What types of treats are appropriate for a student to bring to school to celebrate a birthday?
Teachers and IAs will take turns supervising classrooms during morning recess
What is rainy day recess?
These are due on Thursday night at 8:00pm.
What is the teacher blog?
Alternate uniform that is accepted on meeting days.
What are scout uniforms?
No shorter than the end of their finger tips when standing straight
What length should shorts, skirts, skorts be on both uniform days and free dress days?
Must ride with their own parents or the teacher with the emergency backpack.
What is a student with rescue medication?
All K-4 teachers are outside in this area supervising students after school until 3:30
One 5-8 teacher per month monitors all grades as students in this area
What is the carpool area (black top)?
Teachers take turns being responsible to bring a prayer to this and take notes to send the staff electronically the next day by 8:30am.
What is the Monday faculty meeting?
White shirt that is tucked in
Uniform bottoms, red top (k-5), blue top (6-8)
Or a Jumper (k-5)
What is considered a full uniform?
Must be covered by a shirt that covers the entire seam in the front and back when standing straight
What are yoga pants?
Permission slips must be sent home to parents and returned within 5 days
What is at least three weeks before a field trip?
This space will be cleaned up by the assigned staff members for the month assigned.
What is the faculty room?
These students participate in leading their fall conference
What are students in grades 3-8?
Note: Grades k-2 only teacher and parents attend.
Talk to the child to make sure he/she knows that full uniform is expected on Mass days
Send student to get outerwear (sweatshirt, sweater or vest) from the office/lost and found
Send an email or note home to parents
What do you do if a student comes to school without a full uniform on a Mass day?
Hair should be groomed, moderate, out of eyes, and appropriate for school.
No dramatic, bizarre or distracting color is allowed.
Boys must have hair that is around the ears and above the collar.
What is acceptable hair style and color?
Teacher or IA needs to complete an orange field trip form and submit to the principal for approval
What is at least two weeks in advance of a field trip?
Teachers will meet regularly in these communities to improve student learning
What are PLCs (Professional Learning Communities?)
These will be sent home each Friday with corrected work and assignments in grades k-5
