Global marketing can have a greater influence of low income countries population due to the lenient restrictions of advertising to youth. They can be more direct with targeting alcohol and tobacco adds towards youth, which will result in a great proportion consuming. This will impact the levels of esophageal (throat) cancer, therefore increasing the Years of Life Lost (YLL)

Give an example of how the Ottawa charter can improve health and wellbeing?

An area of the Ottawa charter is to 'Develop Personal Skills'. A component of this is giving individuals the knowledge to make more informed decisions that affect their health such as how to exercise regularly and the benefits of this. This was illustrated in the 'This Girl Can' campaign, which encouraged women to be more physically active, which will prompt their physical health and wellbeing.
