Where can I be dropped off or collected for school?
Either the high school side of school or the middle years and elementary side.
How can you parents/guardians report your absence from school?
Parents can complete the student absence form on the CAPS website or they can call the front office. If I am feeling well enough I can also email my homeroom teacher so they are aware.
When are you allowed to wear your own clothes?
Only on your birthday.
What happens if you submit my class assignments late?
You will have a 10% deduction to your grade per day for 7 days, thereafter you will receive a zero.
What time can we sit in our homeroom from in the morning?
7:30am. You must get permission from Ms. Suzie if it is before 7:30m.

If I wanted to be collected from the middle and elementary side of school what time must I go there?
Immediately at 2:55 pm after I secured my chrome book and collected my cellphone.
If you miss an assignment due to absence from school who is responsible for finding out what assignments you missed?
The student is responsible for finding out what assignments they have missed.
What type of hoodie are students allowed to wear at school? What is the consequence of wearing an unauthorized hoodie?
A CAPS issued hoodie or a plain black hoodie, free from ANY logos. Any unauthorized hoodies will be confiscated and collected at the end of the school day. Repeat offenders will receive break/lunch time detention.
What if you did my work but you forgot to submit it? Or you did not submit it in the form you are asked to.
Forgetting to submit or submitting in the incorrect way will be treated in the same manner as a late submission. It will be best to submit as soon as possible after you realize.
Can students sit in any classroom during homeroom?
No, students must sit in their own homeroom.

If I need to leave school early what must myself and my parents do?
Contact the principal ahead of time.
Inform my homeroom teacher before I leave.
Sign out at Ms. Afke's office.

When should you contact my teacher about missing assignments? What is the best way to contact my teachers?
Either whilst you are absent (if well enough) or on your return to school. It is best to contact my teachers via email.
What foot wear is not authorized at school? What are the consequences of not wearing the correct foot wear?
Slides, flip flops, high heels. I will not be able to participate in PE and I will not be allowed outside on break or lunch.
If you lend another student your notes to copy for a quiz or test or your completed assignment to check your answers is it considered academic dishonesty?
Yes it is also considered academic dishonesty and you will receive a zero grade for the assignment or assessment. No second chances given.
What are students responsible for at the end of every school day?
Storing your chrome book in it correct place and with the charger plugged in.

If you am tardy for school what must you do?
I must arrive via the front office.
I must inform the principal that I have arrived to get my attendance check.
I must inform my homeroom teacher and surrender my cell phone.
What happens if you do not complete assignments that were missed due to absence?
You will receive a zero for the assignment.
What type of jeans are you not allowed to wear for school?
Ripped jeans.

It is classed as academic dishonesty and you will receive a zero for the assignment.
What must I give in at 7:55 am every morning? What is the consequence of not doing this?
I must surrender my cell phone by placing it in the phone box. If I do not do so I will have my phone confiscated and my parent/guardian must collect it from the secondary principal.

How many tardy's is classed as one full absence?
Why does it matter?
3 tardy's. You must attend school for a particular amount of days per year. Too many absences can count as a failed year.
Do you or your parents need to inform the school ahead of time for planned absences?
Yes, where possible complete the student absence form on the school website.
What should you wear on PE days?
PE shirt or Polo Shirt for the day.
PE shirt for PE. (Bring a change for after PE).
Sneakers or Tennis Shoes. No slides, flip flops, bare foot, heels or sandals allowed for PE.
What is an impact of academic dishonesty?
Impacts your GPA, which impacts your college selections. Students who commit academic dishonesty may not be considered for Valedictorian.
When am I allowed to use my cell phone at school? What do I do if I need to call home?
Before 7:55am and from 2:55pm. If you need to call your parents/guardians you must do so using the phone next to Ms. Afke's office or in the secondary principal's office.
