What is required for all incoming students and is small classes designed around faculty members' area of research, interest, and passion? It is designed to help practice the skills needed to be successful in college and career. It concludes with a big symposium at the end of the fall semester—a celebration at which students present their collaborative projects.
First Year Seminar
What is the program for incoming first-year students. It begins a few days before the fall semester starts and allows students to get acclimated. Students take workshops in either writing or math taught by Hillyer faculty. It is an opportunity to get to know faculty, classmates and campus before classes officially begin
