People from the North that came to the south to help reconstruction. People from the South that supported them.
What were Boomtowns?
Small mining communities set up overnight. Once the communities ran out of money, they went "bust"
Why were railroads important to miners and ranchers?
The miners and ranchers could ship resources out to the east faster.
Why was steel important in skyscrapers?
The buildings would not be in danger of falling over. Steel made them more sturdy.

The Union's water fort which the south attacked, sparking the Civil war.

The Radical Republican's idea for Reconstruction.

The Texas Longhorn. It could survive in the dry land and terrible heat.

The different times in parts of the US that have different times. The railroads used them to send trains and certain times, and to not have trains crash into each other.

Groups of workers that were unhappy with the working hours, work conditions, and wages that their employers set up.

The first major battle of the Civil War, which the Confederacy won.
How did Reconstruction end?
The Government pulled troops out of the South.
What was a bonanza farm?
A farm that grew massively and grew lots of products.
What invention made the railroad safer, what did it do, and who invented it?
The air-brake system, it allowed the freighter to stop faster, safer, and closer to the stop. George Westinghouse invented it.
What was a monopoly?
A company that has complete control of the whatever they are producing, and have no competition.
