They were built along the highway system 22 km apart from each other. There weren't navigable rivers, wheeled vehicles, or animals that could transport people. Easy access to goods were thus necessary. Soldiers didn't have to march with heavy armor and could collect their equipments at these warehouses.

He was tied to a stake and was offered to be burned alive or to become baptized. He chose to become baptized because the Incas believed that the body must be well preserved in order to reach the afterlife. After he was baptized, Atahualpa was strangled to death.
