What is the importance of a mission statement?

It serves as a guide for all of the company's decision-making. Shareholders, leaders and employees are generally the target of the mission. It should help workers within the organization know what decisions and tasks best align with the mission of the company. A mission statement offers insight into what company leaders view as the primary purpose for being in business.

Why are they so important? 

Core values are what support the vision, shape the culture and reflect what the company values.  They are the essence of the company’s identity – the principles, beliefs or philosophy of values. Many companies focus mostly on the technical competencies but often forget what are the underlying competencies that make their companies run smoothly — core values. Establishing strong core values provides both internal and external advantages to the company.

What is the purpose of a vision statement?

A vision statements purpose is to give employees more direction with the future of the company. It is what the corporate leaders feel should be the direction for the company.

What is the purpose of getting the CQL accreditation?

Accreditation promotes excellence in person-centered services and supports that lead to increased quality of life.

Who do you call on weekends and after hours if there is an emergency or you are going to miss your shift? 

On Call...which is the main office number. We have an automatic answer service that will transfer your call to the person on shift or on call so always use that number.

In our mission statement it says "Empowering our community"...what does community mean?

Community is going to be anyone that you encounter while in a CHAM purple shirt. We not only want to treat our clients as our community but the public as well as we represent the company when we are out in our shirts.

Everyone...with all of the new services starting in the next year we will serve a wide variety of people. We want to be able to embrace everyone as we move forward and this aligns well with our mission statement.

Who do you report to in the agency when dealing with a problem? 

Always try to communicate with your immediate supervisor first when dealing with any internal problem that is not an emergency. For DSP your immediate supervisor is the service manager that is on duty for the day.
