what goalies can relate to using science to stop a puck?

Olaf Kolzig because he has the reaction time of a cat, Patrick Roy because he has reflexes and reaction time of a cat,  Martin Brodeur because he has reflexes and quick movement and can calculate were they will shoot and were they will go for the next move, and Terry Sawchuk because he has been able to predict Wayne Gretzky the best player to ever play in the NHL and only him and Patrick Roy have been able to do that.

All of these Goalies can say that they have used science to predict shoots and passes and fake shoots and if the shoot will get blacked and how they keep there eye on the puck at all times.

how is science tied into hockey?

With this to find out the save percentage you have to you have to calculate the feet per second and with science you have to calculate when and where you have to move to get the save.

        “Describing motion is a part of mechanics known as kinematics. Physicists call this a kinematic equation.” (Science of Hockey: Test Your Reaction Time).

You have to try and predict there move before they shoot witch you have to calculate what they have done through out there shootout history and in just a regular game like predict the pass if you need to and have to predict the shot and this takes science and math because you are going to have to calculate the movement speed you have to travel at to make the save.

Goalies need quick wits,  reaction time, good eyesight and reflexes.

how is math tied into hockey?

In hockey it takes calculations  because to save a 100 mph shoot you could have ¼ of a second to react so the goalie has to to calculate how long he has to react and how much he has to move to get a lined with the puck. For example : the ratio is

Time= distance rate

If someone shoots from the blue line, a rather generous distance of 60 feet, the time it takes for the puck to travel to the net is
