We cannot give out resident's information, even to law enforcement, and we cannot let them into the building. (not even campus police) Call an RD or Rd on call for any police activity in Cuarto!
Name all the steps to tampering a door, BE SPECIFIC!
Tampering can be used to wake a lock up or to try and force an update to the lock. To begin the process, swipe an invalid card six times; this can be a tamper card from the keywatcher or your staff access card. You should hear a descending tone, if you do not, continue swiping until you hear it. After the descending tone, wait until you hear the ascending tone. At this point, the door should begin updating, which may take up to 15 minutes to connect. During this time, make sure that residents do not swipe their cards.
How far in advance are you typically supposed to submit a shift change? What should you do if you do not fill out the log within this amount of time?
48-hours in advance, anything not put in the log before that is a late request. You must text a lead or Kristine asap if the shift change is last minute!!

Yes, it is the same process as tampering a regular door, just without lights and sounds. Usually the door access logs can verify if the tamper was successful!

Residents may not store or repair motorized vehicles in rooms, suites, or apartments. Motorized vehicles may only be ridden or driven on approved University locations. Hoverboards (self-balancing 2-wheel scooters), electric scooters, electric skateboards, and electric bicycles are considered motorized vehicles and may not be used, charged, or stored in rooms, suites, or apartments, or any common area of any Student Housing and Dining Services owned, operated, or affiliated space. They are a fire hazard so students should be signing a slip from the mailroom and it should be left on Kristine's desk!
Elevator in shasta 1 is down, because why wouldn’t it be, and someone is stuck inside, how would you proceed?
First, figure out where the elevator is and if anyone’s inside, and look for any lights or indicators on the doors. Talk to the person in the elevator, ask how many people are stuck, and check if they’ve pressed the red emergency button (it calls 9-1-1). If they haven’t or can’t, call 9-1-1 immediately and give them the location. Submit a Facilities service request with all the info you gathered, then call the RD and AHA on-call to report what’s going on and stay available until help arrives.
What is happening when there are no lights or tones when you or a resident swipe. The door will not unlock. How would you fix this issue?
The batteries could be bad or dead, or there could be an electronic failure occurring. Try a master card and pull the interior handle up to confirm there are no lights flashing. Have RESIDENT submit service request stating their lock is having issues and no lights are currently occurring on their door. DO NOT tell the resident their battery/lock is dead, only facilities can!
What would you do if a resident handed you a hard key at the desk saying they were told to return if here? What process is this and what log would we use?
Temp core process! Have resident swipe id to verify identity, take key verify key code is correct, put it back in temp core cabinet (the key for it is in keywatcher!)

For packages requiring a 21+ signature, check the resident’s age in StarRez. If the resident is 21+, sign for and process the package normally. If the resident is under 21 or the package is suspected to contain drugs or weapons, do not process it and place it on Kristine’s desk with a 21+ package slip. If no ASD staff are 21+, inform the carrier to return later. Kristine will meet with under-21 residents to open the package and prohibited items will not be released. Fun fact they open it live at the desk!
All of the laundry machines in Yosemite and Tahoe are down, what would you do?
Let residents know to submit service request located in the laundry rooms. The laundry rooms are maintained by CSC, not by student housing so there is not much we can do!
How do we know if a lock is receiving updates? What should we tell residents after we see this indicator?
Blue lights ANDDD the red light is solid! A flash of red after blue typically means you tamper worked and the lock is receiving updates. Tell them to wait before swiping on their door again to allow time for updates.
What door situations should you submit a CSG IT ticket vs what door situations should you submit a facilities service request through Tririga? Be specific in telling me what the difference is!
A CSG ticket is for door access issues, like when you are reading an event log and a students credentials are not there for a door they should have access to. A facilities service request (which the resident submits!!) is for motor failures or like physical problems with the door.

Inventory is done during the opening shift on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (subject to change)
Complete inventory before processing any packages or slotting letter mail
Open StarRez on the mailroom tablet and access the Cuarto ASD Dashboard
Verify that every package listed in StarRez is physically present and properly organized
Check for missing packages
Report any missing packages to the Lead
Identify packages in the mailroom for more than 2 weeks
Forward (FWD) or Return to Sender (RTS) as required
Ensure the mailroom is organized and secure before ending inventory
There is 2 huge rats in a residents room and they say they are too uncomfortable to stay there, how would you respond?
Tell the resident "I'm so sorry that is gross and inform them to submit a service request. Pest control comes out Mondays and Thursdays. Since resident said their uncomfortable staying in their room, call RD!

Good battery is between 4.7-6 volts. Signal strength -30- -60 (the lower the better)
