The theme of friendship is portrayed through Zero and Stanley. Unlikely friends who come together. Stanley helps Zero learn to read, Stanley carries Zero up the mountain and saves Zeros life. This shows the importance of friendship and the trust, love and respect it takes to be a good friend.

Injustice is portrayed with Stanleys wrongful conviction due to his bad luck and bad timing and his families inability to provide him with a lawyer.
Justice is shown when Stanley is proven not guilty with the help of a lawyer the cure is broken and he is now free.
These themes emphasis both sides of our justice system.

Generations of curses and family legacy are shown in our story. The Yelnats are a close family who suffer from a curse from the first Stanley who was robbed too our Stanley who was wrongfully convicted.
Hector Zeroni is apart of a family who cursed the Yelnats, he was the one who helped Stanley break his family curse.
The Walkers, generations of a family digging holes looking for a treasure that was not theirs. Leading to unhappiness.

Fate and Free Will
It was Stanleys fate to meet Zero at Camp Green Lake to break his families curse. It was fate that got him wrongfully convicted which lead to greater things for him.
The free will represented in the book is shown by Zero and Stanley and their journey to God's Thumb. They chose to run away, go up the mountain which tied into their fate by breaking the curse.

Redemption
Redemption is shown in our story by Stanley, he redeemed him family, Kate Barlow, the Zeronis and even the walkers. Setting everyone back on course.
He was redeemed by breaking the curse, finding the treasure and freeing his family from bad luck.
Zero also portrays redemption, he tells Stanley the truth about what happens which leads to both of their freedom and success.
