Kate killed the sheriff because he harassed her and gave him a kiss after he killed her. She became Kissin' Kate Barlow. After she returned to the town, Trout and Linda came looking for her treasure. She was bitten by a yellow-spotted lizard and died without telling them where the treasure was.
