Just as Hosea welcomed Gomer back into his home and family, Jesus welcomes us back into His family—even though we have sinned and fallen short. Hosea paid off all of Gomer’s debt, and in the same way, Jesus paid the debt of our sin on the cross. But Jesus’ work on the cross does even more—when we repent and turn to Him, He restores us and brings us fully back into His family.
