This is our National union that we are a part of
CUPE
Also elected at convention they oversee and work with the finance department for the budget and expenses of HEU members and staff.
Financial Secretary
For the HEU staff this position oversees communications, research and policy
Coordinator Policy and Planning.
This VP identifies with those of Indigenous heritage.
Indigenous Peoples
This group focus's on the world issues that effect people
Global Justice and Peace
Some of the working groups within CUPE
Aboriginal council, Child Care, Contracting Out and privitization, environment, global justice, health & safety, health care issues, literacy, pensions, persons with disabilities, pink triangle, political action, rainbow, women's, young workers
These people elected at convention act on the behalf of the region they come from.
Regional Vice Presidents (Vancouver Coastal 3, Interior 3, Vancouver Island 2, Fraser 3, Northern 2)
This position oversees staff administration, team integrity & administration and all staff within HEU
Human Resources
Ethnic Diversity VP
This group represents one of the smaller groups of gender members within HEU
Men's Committee
HEU is the primary bargainer for what contract
FBA (facilities bargaining association)
These positions support the Financial Secretary. There is positions within locals that do this on a smaller scale.
Senior Trustee, Senior Trustee Elect (this is a 4yrs term) and Trustee
These coordinators support members in the various sectors HEU works with along with Organizing and Bargaining
Private Sector membership, Public Sector membership
This person identifies with those that have challenges in life and at work
People with Disabilities VP
Occupational Health and Safety issues around BC is the focus within this group
OH&S
The communities contract is bargained with which union in lead
BCGEU
These people step up if the president were to be away and support the executive as a whole.
