Who is required to get a meal plan?
Anyone living in residence is required to purchase a meal plan (unless they are dietary restrictions we cannot accommodate (e.g. kosher)).

Yes! We can accommodate most dietary restrictions. We recommend you get in contact with the on campus dietician.

Are there full kitchens in every one of Village Residences?

What furniture comes in a residence room?
A twin bed, a dresser, a desk and chair, closet or wardrobe, shelving, and garbage & recycling bins.
If I am an off campus student, what club/group can I get involved in specifically with other OCL students?

Where do students staying in townhouse style residences do their laundry.
Village students do their laundry at Lowenberger, Quarry View has laundry in specific courts in the basement.

Are laundry fees included in residence fees? If not, what are they?
No, it costs $1.75 to wash and $1.75 to dry. Students pay with flex dollars.
What resources are available for Off Campus students?
What meal plan options are there for off campus students?
Off campus students can purchase any of the meal plans! Those include the 5 day and 7 day all access meal plans. As well, they can purchase 100 and 200 swipes.

Which type of townhouse residences can students stay in if they require housing over the winter break?
It needs to be a townhouse with a kitchen.
If I don't like my roommate, what is the process to switch rooms?
They cannot switch rooms until after move-in. After they will fill out a form on their Brock portal. Housing puts priority on medical accommodations, then roommate conflicts, then different locations. As well, it is based on when you submit the form (the sooner the better).
Can I request the residence I want to stay in?
You can only request your residence if you have above a 95% incoming average.
Residence room assignments are based on average. The higher your average the more likely you are to get the style you want.
Is living off campus or in residence first year better?
Answers may vary.
(e.g. living off campus or in residence will provide different experiences but both are great for different reasons! Either way they are plenty of ways to get involved and university is about what you make of the experience.)
