Past tense + Would + verb in based form
Third Conditional
To express things that did not happend
You didn't give the final exam because you didn't wake up in time.
If I had woken up in time, I would have given the final exam.
You have had low grades in the school, do your promise to your parents.
By third baccalaurate/highschool I will have improved my grades.

Hypothetical Situations
You want to be millionaire
If I bought the lottery, I would be millionaire.
You are uncertain about your future career.
