What does Outgoing Exchange do?
We're the department which recruits, qualifies, and sends EPs on TNs (or students, on internships). We are also one of the exchange departments which generates revenue that keeps the LC going.
100
What is the application fee and how long does it last for?
$75 and it is valid for one year, and renews for another year after an internship

I’m only a freshman in college and but really want to go abroad for a few months. Is that possible?
Absolutely! College freshmen consistently report having some of the most rewarding and enriching AIESEC experiences. Though AIESEC provides a variety of internships all year round, the majority of AIESEC internships for undergraduates take place during the summer and are 2-3 months long educational and volunteer internships.
100
AIESEC pays for your flight.
FAAAAAAAAAAAAAALSE!!! We don't cover your flight expenses, however in total AIESEC is still the most affordable way to intern abroad.
200
What is AIESEC NOT?
We're not headhunters, or a job agency. We're not study abroad and we don't sell internships. We don't work with people who just want high paying jobs. We offer internships but it's a means to an end, not the end in itself.
200
What are the 2 types of internships that AIESEC offers? Describe them.
GIP = Global Internship Program - Typically long term, paid internships. - Usually in Business or Technology but also Teaching GCDP = Global Community Development Program - Typically short term, unpaid internships. - Almost always Volunteer and Teaching internships.

Any individual currently enrolled in an institution of higher education or has graduated less than 2 years ago is eligible for AIESEC’s exchange program. Although AIESEC United States does not discriminate based on age, the requirements of many of our international counterparts state that you must be under 30 and to take part in an AIESEC exchange.

AIESEC offers practical professional and personal development, and real cultural experiences. Internships provide practical development, and because we ONLY offer internships outside of our own country and outside of the country of a student's citizenship, this is REAL cultural exposure.

Depends on the internship. Because ENGLISH is the international language of AIESEC, English proficiency is enough to get you any internship but some countries in Central and South America require you to speak Spanish, and Germany may require you to speak German.

Define these acronyms: TN EP OGX ICX TM
TN = Traineeship EP = Exchange Participant OGX = Outgoing Exchange ICX = Incoming Exchange TM = Talent Management
400
Where and how long are internships?
We offer internships in every country where AIESEC is present (over 100 countries), though some internships are limited to certain countries who offer them. GIPs are 6 months to 18 months GCDPs are 6 weeks to 12 weeks.
400
What do the fees pay for and where do they go?
We are a student not-for-profit. Therefore, everything we make is re-invested into our members. We are volunteers, and we do not get paid for our work. The fees indirectly pay us by sending us to leadership development conferences and help us function as an LC. GCDP = free food and housing. Both GCDP and GIPs get free travel insurance included in your fee. Half goes to the LC, and half goes to the MC (AIESEC US)
400
I'm abroad, and I'm sick. What do I do?
Let your EP manager know, and also use your travel insurance and medical ID number to cover your health expenses. Most hospitals should accept the coverage of STA travel insurance.

AIESEC is an amazing organization.
TRUE. We're awesome.
500
What is AIESEC's vision and mission statement?
Peace, and fulfillment of Humankind's Potential
500
How long does it take to get an internship?
Because AIESEC is student run and SELF-MOTIVATED, EP managers can only do so much. How much effort you put into searching for an internship (how many TNs you apply to) will determine how many offers you get and how long it takes to hear back from a TN.
500
Why do I have to pay fees?
Because AIESEC is a platform for development, we like to EARN our money, instead of asking for donations. By working hard to send EPs abroad or raising TNs (and get money for AIESEC, we actually learn in the process. Also, DONATIONS ARE NOT SUSTAINABLE.
500
Worst case scenario: I arrived in another country, and there is no TN! What do I do?
Alert your EP Manager and contact the MC's Emergency Contact number immediately. We will help handle your situation and send you home if need be. We will approach and handle the LC who sent you on a false TN.
