Name three things to say to a patron when you give the patron their card.

“Welcome to the Library! You can now check out up to 50 (10 for CLC) items at any of the High Plains Library District locations and you can return items at any other location listed on the brochure. You can use this phone number to call to renew your books or if you have any questions. You can also renew items online at the library’s website, www.MyLibrary.us, which is printed on your library card.

Most items check out for three weeks except for adult feature movies and all children’s videos, which have a shorter checkout period of one week.

There is a limit of 15 media checked out on your account at one time (Resident borrowers only).

Most materials can be renewed up to three times as long as they are not on request (see “Renewal limits”).

If you lose your card or it gets stolen, let us know right away so that you won’t be held responsible for items checked out on your record by someone else. Be sure to notify the library if you change your address or phone number.”

Explaining what they can access via the web site (their record to renew and place holds, resetting their PIN, downloadables, specialty checkouts.)
