This method of execution was the favorite of the Roman Empire. They reserved this brutal method for traitors and rebels. It was thought of as one of the most shameful and humiliating ways to die. Jesus was killed this way.
What is Crucifixion?
Considered by many to be the first pope, this person was Jesus' closest disciple. Jesus called him "rock" because he would be the foundation of the early church.
